Estonian Museum Awards’ Nomination – Tallinn City Museum's New Permanent Exhibition
On 7th February, the winners of this year's Estonian Museum Awards will be announced at a ceremony in Tartu.
We are delighted that Tallinn City Museum's new permanent exhibition at Kiek in de Kök, "Protected City, Stronghold of Defence", designed by LUMIA and Pult, has been nominated for the Permanent Exhibition of the Year award.
The exhibition explores how the city maintained its citizens' readiness for defence, how it equipped itself with weaponry and how it resisted Muscovite attempts to conquer when they besieged and bombarded the city.
The exhibition utilises modern technology and valuable artefacts are preserved in innovative, electricity-free climate display cases that maintain optimal conditions sustainably, ensuring the city's heritage remains secure for future generations.
Exhibition was designed by Margit Aule, Margit Lillemaa, Viktoria Ugur, Toomas Adrikorn and Celine-Cathy Raaga.
