2nd place in the competition of Juhkentali 48
The proposal titled “Jungle” won 2nd place in the Juhkentali 48 architectural competition organized by Liven. The building’s long facade is articulated into four distinct volumes, whose roofscape is shaped by sloping surfaces, dormers, and terraces. The height of the ground floor also varies, and the facade changes along its length to introduce diversity into the urban space. The solution is urban in character and fits well into its surrounding environment.
The courtyard facade also divides the building mass into several distinct parts, highlighted by spacious balconies. The inner courtyard is designed as a green urban jungle, offering a contrast to the dense surrounding city fabric. Diverse and lush planting, with both large and smaller trees and winding pathways between them, creates a calm and layered environment that supports everyday outdoor activity and community life.
